Breastfeeding Support

.Why Breastfeed?

    • Recover faster from childbirth
    • Very little cost to parents vs. expensive formula
    • Healthier babies (improved immune system including fewer respiratory and ear infections
    • Reduction in chance of food allergies later in life and more)
    • Hastens bonding between mother and baby

With hospital stays often 24-48 hours, it leaves little time for breast feeding instruction. Yes, breastfeeding is a natural process and both baby and mom have instincts to feed, but it can be a stressful and trying process.

What to expect

At Baby Basics, we want to reduce that stress and by providing new mothers the support they need to achieve their breastfeeding goals. We do this in the comfort of a mother’s home, resulting in a more peaceful experience. These private consultations vary in length but start at 1 hour and include 1 week of continued support via email and text messaging.

Breastfeeding is a process that requires patience and practice.  I am not a miracle worker, but I will provide the 1 week of continued support to make sure you are on the right track.

Included in the consultation:

  • Incdividual counseling concerning breastfeeding
  • Assistance with infant latch and positioning
  • Milk transfer measurements
  • Determining the amount of milk a baby needs and identifying baby’s cues
  • Assistance with selecting and using breast pumps
  • Trainng on how to increase ilk supply
